
New Group Leader for East Ayrshire Conservatives…
Following the East Ayrshire Conservatives Council Group AGM on Tuesday 13th May, a ‘New’ Group Leader has been selected. Councillor Neill Watts (Cumnock & New Cumnock Ward) has been selected as the Group Leader, and will now lead the East Ayrshire Conservative Council Group.
Previous Leader Councillor John McFadzean (Annick Ward) has been selected as the Deputy Group Leader and Group Whip, with Councillor Alyson Simmons (Ballochmyle Ward) remaining as the Group Secretary.
Councillor Neill Watts said “I am delighted to become the ‘New’ Leader of the Conservative Group here in East Ayrshire. Under my leadership the Conservative Group in East Ayrshire will continue to:”
- Support the Campaign to reopen a Train Station in Mauchline & Cumnock.
- Fight for enhancements to Woodroad Park in Cumnock.
- Oppose any proposals to introduce Rural Parking Charges in Stewarton, Galston, Mauchline and Cumnock.
- Campaign for a full and comprehensive review of Parking Charges in Kilmarnock, so that the Council can help boost the Town and stop any continued economic decline.
- Oppose the Garden Bin Permits Scheme
“The Conservative group will also continue to support the residents of East Ayrshire on the issues which are important to our communities such as:”
- Litter, Flytipping, Graffiti and Anti-Social Behaviour
- Access to good quality Social Housing
- Challenging ridiculous ‘Net Zero’ Targets
- Local Transport Infrastructure, Roads, Bus & Train
- Education & Healthcare
Neill added “I would like to thank Councillor John McFadzean for all the hard work he has done as leader of the Conservative group over the last three years, his guidance of the group has been invaluable.”
