Councillor Neill Watts - Lisalanna Celebrations

Councillor Neill Watts - Cumnock & New Cumnock had great pleasure this afternoon to attend with other elected members, the Action for Children Lisalanna short breaks service and help them celebrate 25 years of the service within the community in Cumnock.

Lisalanna supports children and young people from the ages of 5-18 who have complex learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities, and for those children with other complex health care needs. Since 1999 Action for Children have provided the opportunity for disabled children and young people to have fun, gain independence, learn, and develop while families take a break from their caring responsibilities.

Over the last quarter of a century Lisalanna in Cumnock has supported close to 300 families with many using their support continually over these years. Families’ loyalty and trust are a result of Lisalanna’ s wonderful dedicated staff team who are delivering consistent, compassionate care, many of their staff members have over 20 years’ service.

Councillor Neill Watts said "Well done and thank you to everyone in Lisalanna and Action for Children for all the fantastic work you do."
